World's Biggest F&B Exhibition 'SIAL' all set for its Second Edition in India

The exhibition will offer the industry an opportunity to source high quality local and foreign ingredients, network with industry professionals from across the globe, learn the latest industry trends, innovations, and broaden their business potential.

The three-day SIAL- International exhibition for food and beverages is all set with its second edition in India. With an aim to boost growth in the food processing sector, the exhibition being brought by Comexposium and Inter Ads Exhibitions will be held at Pragati Maidan in Delhi between 19th Sep- 21st Sep. Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises and few associations like Forum of Indian Food Importers, Indian Federation of Culinary Association, Hospitality Purchase Managers Forum etc. will also be participating in the exhibition.

India’s USD 600 Billion Food processing industry is expected to grow three-fold by 2020. The 2nd Edition of SIAL in India is expected to witness over 300 exhibitors from 20 countries like China, France, Indonesia, Italy, Portugal, Russia, South Korea, Canada, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, USA and others will help them explore the untapped market in the country and make investments and deals in the food processing sector. Meghalaya is the Partner State in SIAL India with special focus on the northeast market.

The exhibition will offer the industry an opportunity to source high quality local and foreign ingredients, network with industry professionals from across the globe, learn the latest industry trends, innovations, and broaden their business potential. It will also bring opportunities for investors and labourers and the modern food industry innovations to advance the agricultural economy.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajan Sharma, Managing Director, Interads Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, said, “In India, the food sector has proved to be the high-profit sector primarily within the food processing industry. The Government of India and the huge foreign investment is the driving force for the growth and development of the food processing industry. It is very important for international support to be the backbone of the flourishing food processing industry. The event will offer national and international players to come together and provide a number of opportunities in the food processing industry.”

The event is inspired by path-breaking exhibitions, such as SIAL Paris (since 1964) SIAL China, SIAL Jakarta, SIAL Abu Dhabi and SIAL Canada wherein 15,000 exhibitors from 119 countries have participated in this exhibition.

The three-day event will also witness SIAL Innovation- A unique celebration of innovative food and beverage products. The jury comprising of food industry experts will reveal the most innovative products in the food industry in terms of - technology, ingredients, recipe, equipment and services. The awards for Gold, Silver and Bronze category worldwide will be given on the 2nd day of the exhibition during the awards ceremony.

Another attraction of the event will be the biennial world chef championship ‘Bocuse d'Or’- where leading chefs will compete in one of the world's most prestigious cooking competitions.
