Welldercare announces LAAS retirement resorts for senior living

The Group aims to establish gold standard in the wellness sector

To reignite a sense of purpose in life for veterans in good health, happiness and overall wellbeing, Welldercare, a new entrant into the Indian hospitality industry, has announced plans to open long-term retirement resorts for senior citizens. Rather than getting stuck with real estate-driven retirement homes for the rest of their lives, these medium- to long-term retirement resorts for senior citizens are India’s first lifestyle as a service model for retirement living, offering a 360-degree comprehensive solution that converges world-class hospitality, healthcare, and wellness.

Marketed by serial entrepreneur Kanishka Acharya, the WelldercareGroup aims to establish a gold standard in the entire wellness sector for veterans to lead a happy and healthy later life with converging entertainment, technology and best-in-class care practices. One of the USP’s is to allow customers to select multiple locations to live in throughout the year to provide a cultural, geographical and climate-friendly experience. Senior living at Welldercare is going beyond reactive solutions to redesign senior living, with an emphasis on the second innings.

Welldercare Retirement Resorts provide a continuum of engaged lifestyles, not confining veterans to a single location by allowing them to move to different locations of their choosing with no gaps in the care continuum. The company intends to establish a pan-India network of retirement resorts in order to provide a diverse experience of carefree living without the need to buy into any class of real estate.

In the next three months, Welldercare will open its first resorts in Goa, Kochi, Kumarakom and Munnar and in the next 24 months, the company intends to expand its retirement resort network to 20 locations. It hopes to serve 500 senior couples by 2022. “We don’t want people moving and retiring with Welldercare. We want people coming and thriving. Welldercare inspires, nurtures and revitalises veterans’ spirits with personalised attention and intuitive service. By linking AI with emotional intelligence, priority access to best-in-class healthcare, the hospitality of the world-class and an outcome-based approach in the holistic well-being to ensure a happy and healthy living. For us, they’re life veterans,” said Kanishka Acharya, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Welldercare India.
