Vijay Wanchoo bids farewell to The Imperial New Delhi

Ex- Leela Palace New Delhi GM Louis Sailer to take over the baton from veteran hotelier

After a 13 year long association with one of the most historic hotels in the National Capital, Senior Executive Vice President and General Manager, The Imperial, New Delhi, Vijay Wanchoo has decided to move on. Wanchoo was given a farewell by his colleagues, friends and well-wishers on May 10.

One of the senior-most hoteliers in the country, Wanchoo had joined The Imperial in 2009 in the present position. He had earlier worked with the Connaught Place-located hotel between 1996 and 1999 as the Executive Assistant Manager before moving to ITC Hotels where he opened the Marriott Hotel (now The Sheraton) as the General Manager and then shifted over to Fortune Park Hotels as GM (Operations), operating 20 hotels.

Louis Sailer, founder of luxury hotel asset advisory company, Nullus Ineptias, will take over as the new Senior Executive Vice President and General Manager, The Imperial, New Delhi from Wanchoo. Sailer has had a stellar track record in opening, restructuring and managing luxury hotels across the world – from Raffles Resort Canouan Island to The Fullerton Hotel, Singapore, Hotel Cafe Royal, London and The Leela Palace, New Delhi.

Sailer had quit The Leela Palace New Delhi in August 2020 after a six year long association as the asset’s General Manager to start Nullus Ineptias to offer help to owners of luxury hotels to reshape their identity or brand in 60 days. A veteran hotelier, Sailer had started his career back in 1986 as a Dining Room Captain aboard Cunard Cruise Liner, MS Saga Fjord in The Bahamas.
