The appointment of Vijay Krishnan as the new Vice President of Operations for South India has been announced by Royal Orchid & Regenta Hotels.
A 25-year veteran of the industry, Vijay Krishnan has worked for brands such as The Oberoi (Oberoi & Trident), The Starwood Hotels (Le Meridien & Design hotels), Hyatt International (Regency & Alila), A Relais and Chateaux Golf Hotel (Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club), to name a few. He was responsible for the inception of the brand for Fox Browne Creative called Aramness - Luxury Lifestyle Wilderness Resort at Gir National Park in Gujarat, India.
As a leader in the lifestyle-luxury hospitality segment, he is known for his innovative thinking. Krishnan is an expert in strategising growth blueprints and leadership programmes in emerging markets, with a deep understanding of soft and grand openings. He is experienced in managing luxury hotels, resorts, and safari lodges for business, leisure, golf, wellness, and wildlife properties that successfully creates and delivers experiences that go much beyond their material value. Also, having worked across various geographies, he is adept at seamlessly handling hotel operations, understanding customer experience and optimising performance level of associates.
Krishnan graduated from Mangalore University in India with a Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management. He takes pride in his several advanced professional training in management development programmes from Cornell University, School of Hotel Administration, USA and Ecole Hotelier De Lausanne, Switzerland and Strathmore University, Nairobi, Kenya.
His philosophy of people management focuses on empowering and delivering results. His professional travel led him to represent brands at various international luxury trade fairs in India, South Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe, establishing relationships across key segments of corporate, MICE, wildlife, golf, leisure, and wellness.
