Vietjet announces four new flight routes between India and Vietnam

This marks the return of the airline after Covid19 pandemic

Vietjet has announced several new services that would be linking India with Vietnam. These include flights between Mumbai and Hanoi, Mumbai and Ho Chi Minh City, Mumbai and Phu Quoc and New Delhi and Phu Quoc. This marks the return of the airline after the pandemic as it continues to expand into India, which has one of the strongest aviation markets in the world. The announcement ceremony was attended by Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vuong Dinh Hue and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, among other dignitaries from both India and Vietnam.

On June 3, the direct service from Mumbai to Ho Chi Minh City would begin, while the Mumbai-Hanoi services would commence on June 4. Mumbai-Ho Chi Minh City service would have a frequency of four return flights in a week, while the Mumbai-Hanoi sector would see three weekly return flights from the airline. Starting September 9, the Phu Quoc-Mumbai service would commence with four weekly round trips, and Delhi-Phu Quoc round trip would begin, flying thrice a week.

Before the pandemic, Vietjet had two direct routes linking New Delhi with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, apart from the charter flights that operated between Bodh Gaya and Vietnam. Now, the previous services between Delhi and Ho Chi Minh City would resume on April 29, while April 30 would mark the resumption of Delhi-Hanoi services of the airline. Each route would have three return flights a week.

“With flights of just over five hours per leg and a convenient flight schedule on offer throughout the week, Vietjet's renewed and increased connectivity between Vietnam and India will create many more trade and tourism opportunities between the two countries, helping to boost the economies of both,” said Vietjet Managing Director Dinh Viet Phuong.
