The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group and The Keshav Suri Foundation mark Pride Month

Celebrate Queer freedom with a host of performances and kitty hunt to hunt new talents and to provide opportunity for fresh queer talents to perform at Bangalore Kitty Ko at The Lalit Ashok Bangalore

If there is a colourful month on the calendar, it is June and The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group and The Keshav Suri Foundation are celebrating Queer freedom with a host of performances and kitty hunt to hunt new talents and to provide opportunity for fresh queer talents to perform at Bangalore Kitty Ko at The Lalit Ashok Bangalore, famous for the LGBTQIA+ community's social gatherings.

The Group had launched the #PureLove campaign after the Orlando nightclub shooting in 2016 to address the most basic needs of a human being - to socialise and create a safe place for the community to do so. The idea of campaign was to sensitise the team and get them ready to welcome the marginalised community.

Soon this was followed up with drag performances. The opening night featured RuPaul Drag Race Season 7 winner Violet Chachki perform at Kitty Su. This event was attended by more than 2,000 people. This was followed by Alaska Thunderfuck 5000, Derrick Barry and many more to performing at Kitty Su and Kitty Ko. This created a platform for promoting local Drag Queens, such as Rani Ko-He-Nur, Maya, Lush Monsoon, Betta Naan Stop, Zeesh, Hiten Noonwal, Hash Brownie, Lady Bai and Whacker Cracker among others. It gave a lot of closet queens the courage to come out and embrace their art. Pure Love Nights provided a launch pad for more than 35 Indian drag queens and Kings.

It is an award winning nightclub from India to be listed in DJ Mag for three consecutive years amongst the top 100 nightclubs of the world. One of the resident kittens at the club is DJ Amish, India's only DJ on a wheelchair. The club has supported acid attack survivors and has extensively hired from the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender and Queer community (LGBTQIA+).
