Re-Defining Luxury with Experience

Providing the experience of lifetime with The Postcard Hotel, where they don’t follow the typical hotel format and are experimenting the uncommon.

At 4th Indian Hospitality Awards and Summit 2019 in Pullman Aerocity New Delhi, the Founder and Chairman of ‘The Postcard Hotel’, Kapil Chopra explained the needs of Indian travellers and how they have implemented it at ‘The Postcard Hotel’.

Supporting his opinion with facts, Chopra said, “Indian is holidaying like never before. According to a GTI report, 62 per cent of travellers were Indian in the hotels, last year.

Talking about the shift in the travellers, he added, “ Now the travellers are focussing on leisure, adventure, luxury experiences. People are travelling solo, this has given rise to the business.”

There is an increased demand for innovation in the industry and with the boom of digitalization, hoteliers need to think digitally first. According to a recent report, the industry holds the business of 13 billion dollars. Out of this 13 billion, 4 billion is received through online transactions. Use of Credit cards has been a game-changer in the industry.

Problem with traditional hotels is high cost of construction, longer gestation periods, overbuild structures, inefficient distribution strategy and wastage of space. And if talked about innovation, Leela Palace was the last hotel to innovate.

Chopra said, “While thinking about the Postcard, we didn’t want to restrict ourselves with only on aspect of hospitality. We couldn’t compromise with the services or the experience.“

With three hotels in Goa- The Postcard Velha, The Postcard Cuelin, The postcard Moira, it presents experience of lifetime with home-cooked Goan food by localities and wellness experience with in house doctors.

Further he said, “At The Postcard Hotel, we have re-designed the luxury. We offer the transformative experience of Intimate hotels with world-class services. We have changed the norms of typical hotels with ‘The Postcard Hotel’. There is no check-in or check out time or set breakfast hours. We also promote Indian culture with Indian breads for meals.”
