PappaRoti Plans to Open 20 Outlets in 2019

Suraj Bahirwani, Co-Founder of PappaRoti, realized his passion for entrepreneurship at an early age and cofounded PappaRoti; plans expansion by 2023.

ON THEIR last visit to Dubai, the trio – Kunal Jethwani, Nitin Jethwani and Suraj Bhariwani – got fascinated with PappaRoti and its offerings and came up with an idea to start something that has been relished and cherished in India for ages.

“No better product could appeal to Indians than bun muska and a steaming hot cup of chai that came to India in 1940s by Iranis. So PappaRoti Buns are an advanced version of the Indian bun maska with added flavours of coffee and caramel,” added Suraj Bhariwani who has recently opened another outlet in Mumbai (after Hyderabad and New Delhi).

PappaRoti is a Malaysian chain where ‘Roti’ stands for Bun. It specialises in freshly baked buns accompanied with a delectable assortment of hot and cold beverages. The brands success owes to the authentic and exceptional taste of its golden brown buns baked fresh with an amazing variety of toppings on the bun – Nutella with Nuts, Cheese, Salted Caramel topping or Lotus Biscuits.

In 2003, the first PappaRoti store opened in Malaysia, selling freshly baked – hot out of the oven roti buns coated with a sweet caramelized coffee cream and a secret pocket of salted butter.

Back home, Papparoti is the perfect example of food binding different cultures together and thus perfectly fits in a multi-cultural country like India. It also serves a range of other options on the menu—from shakshouka eggs to mini burgers and pizzas.

Ever since its launch in India, the founders have been excited to bring this international chain to India. “We are already on our 11th store by December and plan 20 stores in 2019. By 2023, we should be opening close to 80/100 stores.”
