The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace has appointed Monica Edara as Associate Director of Marketing & Communications and Prasanna Venkatesh as Director of Food & Beverage.
An astute, seasoned, and national award-winning professional with an overall marketing experience of two decades, Monica Edara is set to join The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace as Associate Director of Marketing. Within hospitality, she began her career with Accor Hotels and has worked for over 14 years as a successful Marketing Communications Head with Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre, Novotel Hyderabad Airport, and Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach.
Her previous stint was with Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel & Lakeside Chalet – Mumbai, Marriott Executive Apartment, India’s largest multi-dimensional lifestyle complex with 773 keys. Monica thoroughly delves herself into work and along with her team has been able to execute various assignments to successful completion. Her strength lies in MICE, core communication, and PR; and with her meticulous relationship-building skills, it is a given that she has exceptional audiences and gatherings for events and activations. Her attitude to help and build on cross-departmental communication is what makes marketing the most integral department in any hotel. She solely believes in the tagline, ‘Marketing promises, Operations delivers’.
In her present role, she will be responsible to ensure 100% brand compliance across all departments of the hotel. To further emphasise the brand prominence and create top-of-the-notch projects which allow for brand recall and recognition, she will also handle the entire 360-degree PR planning and brand campaign execution.
On the other hand, Prasanna Venkatesh comes with over 15 years of industry experience across India, Maldives and Dubai. An enterprising leader and visionary with an established record of streamlining operations and administration, he is an inspiration for many. Prior to his integration at the Westin Hyderabad Mindspace, he was the Head of Operations and was responsible for the pre-opening of multiple venues at Expo 2020 Dubai. He headed the F&B Operations for Hilton Hotels & Resorts and Westin Hotels in Dubai. The other brands he has led for includes Cheval Blanc by LVMH, TAJ Dubai, Six Senses Soneva Gili Maldives, Kanuhura by Sun Resorts Mauritius, Hyatt Regency Chennai, Velassaru Maldives and The Oberoi Udaivilas marked the beginning of his journey in the hospitality industry.
Some accolades that he has achieved over the years for the brands he has worked for include the reigns of BBC Good Food Awards Dubai, FACT Dining Award and Time Out award in Dubai. Prasanna has successfully achieved and exceeded budget goals throughout his tenure at various brands and always assisted in yielding overall profitability for the hotel.
At The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace, he will be responsible for the entire Food & Beverage Operations while heightening and streamlining systems and procedures. In addition, he will overlook the strategies and business plans for all F&B outlets and Events & Conference.
