Masters of Marriott Bonvoy, Culinary Culture bring two Michelin-starred Sühring to Bengaluru

The event with Sühring marked the second instalment of Masters of Marriott Bonvoy for the year

Masters of Marriott Bonvoy and Culinary Culture have come together once again to present and celebrate culinary excellence in the world of food and beverage. The collaboration brings the globally famed Sühring, founded by celebrated German identical twin Chefs Thomas and Mathias Sühring to Bengaluru, India for the first time. Their restaurant Sühring, which doubles up as the chefs home in Bangkok, holds two Michelin stars and is currently ranked No. 7 on Asia's 50 Best Restaurant list. After a very successful event with the legendary Chef Massimo Bottura from Osteria Francescana in April, the event with Sühring would mark the second instalment of Masters of Marriott Bonvoy for the year.

Their visit commenced with a special culinary meet on August 4, where Masters of Marriott Bonvoy and Culinary Culture played host to leading chefs and literary food enthusiasts of the city. In conversation with Vir Sanghvi, India’s top food authority, the Chefs touched upon their journey of elevating their family recipes to the level of haute cuisine and changing perception about German cuisine globally. While in India, the Chefs will be cooking gastronomic dishes inspired by their home country at two exclusively hosted dinners at the Ritz Carlton Bangalore over August 5 and 6.

Commenting on their Bengaluru sojourn, Chefs Mathias and Thomas Sühring said, “Namaskara Bengaluru! We are thrilled to come back to India after four years with our team from our restaurant in Thailand. It's our first time visiting the beautiful city of Bengaluru and we are thankful to Masters of Marriott Bonvoy and Culinary Culture for inviting us and organising these wonderful events. We will be re-creating our signature dishes inspired by our childhood memories and family recipes and give guests a taste of our Modern German cuisine. We have wonderful memories of India and are looking forward to making new memories on this visit."

"I have known the Sühring twins for almost 12 years and have seen them grow from strength to strength through different stages of their career. Today, their eponymous restaurant has two Michelin stars and regularly features on the prestigious World's 50 Best Restaurants list. At Culinary Culture our mission is to bring the world's best to India and we are thrilled to have them with us in India once again. We were blown away by the response to their dinners, which sold out immediately and I'm thankful to our partners Marriott International and Diageo for making this event possible and bringing the Sühring experience to Bengaluru,” said Raaj Sanghvi, CEO, Culinary Culture.

“There is no denying India’s food scene is changing dynamically as both modern and progressive styles of cuisines find place at our tables today. In keeping with this trend Masters of Marriott Bonvoy aims at setting new benchmarks in culinary excellence by offering our guests and patrons the experience of myriad cuisines from the world over. Hosting the Sühring twins is both a pleasure and honour as we continue to showcase and collaborate with culinary maestros across the world. With Food & Beverage continuing to be one of our greatest strengths, the association between global chefs and our culinary experts at Marriott ensures that an array of enriching experiences await our guests and culinary enthusiasts wherever they go,” said Khushnooma Kapadia, Senior Area Director of Marketing – South Asia, Marriott International.

The event had the city’s top chefs and food connoisseurs engaged and enthralled for the entire 45-minute session. The audience included the likes of Shubra Aiyappa, Anitha Kholar, Divya Prabharkar, Vishal Shetty and Chetan Kamani and other top names in the F&B industry.
