Joining Sarovar Significant Chapter in My Journey

Sarovar Hotel's new Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Vijay Jaiswal spoke to BW Hotelier about his switch from ITC Hotels and shared about Sarovar's expansion plans.

SAROVAR HOTELS has recently appointed Vijay Jaiswal as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He has 29 years of experience in hospitality industry. Prior to joining Sarovar Hotels, Jaiswal was associated with ITC Hotels as Head of Sales and Marketing for Fortune Hotels.

Speaking to BW Hotelier, Jaiswal began by saying, “Sarovar Hotels is going through an interesting phase with many new developments and rapid expansion. To be a part of this growth story would be another significant chapter in my journey and growth in hospitality.”

“As I have studied, visited and experienced Sarovar’s strong network of over 75 hotels spread across the sub-continent and Africa over the past two months, it has given valuable insights into the operations and management of hotels that offer one of the best value for money services to its guests,” he added.

Over a career spanning about three decades, Jaiswal held several positions at ITC Hotels where he began his career in Sales in Chennai hotels in 1989. Thereafter he went to holding positions at the Regional office - North; Sales Manager of ITC Kakatiya, Hyderabad and Rajputana Sheraton, Jaipur.

Sharing details of Sarovar’s expansion plans, Jaiswal said, “we are embarking on our journey of managing 100 hotels by 2020. We will be strengthening our sales & distribution by using enhanced technology to enable us to move to the next level.”

Jaiswal continued that by strengthening the Sales and Marketing operations, their growth strategy for India and Africa is to make Sarovar the leading hotel management company. “We will be setting our footprints to Jharkhand with a hotel set to be opened in Ranchi soon. This will be followed by openings in Raipur, Amritsar and Mahipalpur (Delhi) by end of this year,” he said.

“We plan to further strengthen our presence in existing and newer tier II & III cities with focused Sales & Marketing and Distribution to take the company forward and stay ahead as the leading hotel management company in the country,” he added.
