IHCL celebrates Earth Hour

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced that it would raise awareness about climate change and the need to reduce carbon footprint by participating in Earth Hour 2023. All IHCL hotels across India would observe a one hour switch-off of electricity from 8:30 to 9.30 pm on March 25, 2023.

Speaking on the occasion, Gaurav Pokhariyal, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, IHCL, stated,” IHCL has been participating in Earth Hour for many years with great enthusiasm. This reflects our commitment towards environmental stewardship by integrating sustainable practices as part of our daily operations. We are delighted to join millions of people around the world in a symbolic gesture of support for a more sustainable future.”  

Additionally, all IHCL hotels will offer guest and employee engagement activities such as star gazing, storytelling, dinners in the dark and pedal for the planet.  

IHCL is also continuing to strengthen its sustainable business practices. Guided by its framework of Paathya, IHCL has undertaken a number of initiatives including phasing out single-use plastic, reduction in carbon footprint, water conservation, utilisation of renewable sources of energy and community engagement.
