Jawa receives the honour for his Outstanding Contribution to International Business Development

Kanwal Jeet Jawa, Chairman & Managing Director, Daikin Air Conditioning India Pvt Ltd, has been conferred the prestigious Priyadarshni Academy Global Award for Outstanding Contribution to International Business Development. The award is conferred on dignitaries of national and international repute for exceptional contributions in their fields of work. For close to five decades, the Priyadarshni Academy Global Awards have grown into becoming one of the rare internationally recognised humanitarian awards instituted in India. The awards are viewed by many leaders as Asia’s very own Nobel awards.

Jawa took over as Regional Director (Asia Pacific) of Carrier Aircon Limited in 1997 before becoming Regional Vice President (North and East) in 2005 and then Senior Vice President at Voltas Limited in 2001. After becoming the MD of Uniflair India Pvt Ltd in 2006, it was in May 2010 that he took charge of the office of Deputy Managing Director and COO of Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt Ltd. Since then, he held positions of MD and COO from September 2010. He then took over the current role of MD and CEO in July 2017. In addition to this, in June 2018, he became a Member of the Board and Associate Officer of the company and in June 2019, he took charge as Member of the Board and Senior Associate Officer. Since June 2018, he has also been serving as Regional General Manager of Air Conditioning Business in India/ East Africa of Global Operations Division of the company.

While Patricia Espinosa Cantellano, Ambassador Emeritus of Mexico was awarded Priyadarshni Academy Global Award for Outstanding Contribution to Sustainable Development; Priyadarshni Academy Ramkrishna Bajaj Memorial Global Award for Outstanding Contribution to Trade, Commerce & Industry was conferred on Dr Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman, RP Sanjiv Goenka Group. Muhammed Aziz Khan, Founder Chairman, Summit Group of Companies, Bangladesh was awarded Priyadarshni Academy Global Award for Outstanding Contribution to Bangladesh’s Infrastructure and Priyadarshni Academy Pralhad P Chhabria Memorial Global Award for Outstanding Contribution to Women’s Empowerment & Spirituality was conferred on Shraddheya Shailbala Pandya, Managing Trustee, Shri Vedmata Gayatri Trust, Haridwar; Priyadarshni Academy Harish Mahindra Memorial Global Award for Outstanding Contribution to Conscious Economic Growth was given to Dario Werthein, Chairman, Vrio Corp, Argentina and Priyadarshni Academy Smita Patil Memorial Award for Best Actor to Alia Bhatt. 

While the Minister of Textiles, Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha, Piyush Goyal; Founder Chancellor of Rishihood University and Former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu and Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Rahul Narwekar were the Guest of Honours for the occasion, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari was the Chief Guest.
