Chalet Hotels certified among India’s Top 10 Best Workplaces for Women 2022 by Great Place to Work® India
Chalet Hotels supports its women employees with training and development opportunities, including webinars and live or on-demand virtual sessions on pertinent topics
Chalet Hotels Limited, owner, developer, asset manager, and operator of high-end hotels in key metro cities of India, has been recognised and certified in the 2022 list of 'India's Best Workplaces™ for Women 2022 – Mid-size (Top 10)’ by Great Place to Work® India. This is the third consecutive time that the Company has been featured on this prestigious list, a testament to its core values that emphasize gender diversity, inclusion, and overcoming barriers to gender equality.
The recognition is based on confidential data from surveys conducted to gauge employee issues, gender diversity, and women-friendly policies among others. In addition to that, as a part of the stringent set of criteria, a minimum of 70 percent positive feedback was required based on the Trust Index Employee Survey. Chalet Hotels shone for its policies tailored to the needs of the women workforce, and its culture of inclusion, diversity, and development.
Always a firm believer in equal opportunities and empowerment, Chalet Hotels supports its women employees with training and development opportunities, including webinars and live or on-demand virtual sessions on pertinent topics. The company also galvanizes its team to navigate its development journey with a special focus on grooming women for leadership roles. Chalet Hotels has implemented forward-looking policies such as the ‘Wonder Women Initiative’, which provides an opportunity for female associates to exchange ideas and encourages networking within internal teams and outside of them. A similar program, ‘Aanchal’ is designed for expecting mothers to support them during pregnancy with extensive facilities such as cab services and reduced working hours. In addition to this, to ensure a smooth transition back to work after becoming parents, the company also has a policy called ‘My Saheli’ that helps them to stay connected with the office while on maternity leave, as well as facilitates tie-ups with day care centers, and other services while at work.
Furthermore, the company has introduced an initiative called ‘Fab Women’ - a women's connect group that aims to bring together all female employees within the Company by providing information on health, lifestyle, fitness, social awareness, investment opportunities, child safety, as well as various events and activities. Introduced in 2019 by Chalet, ‘The Pride Side’ is an inclusive diversity policy that prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity and covers elements including zero discrimination in the hiring process and financial support in gender affirmation procedures. The policy provides adoption assistance benefits and professional counseling, where required. To support this policy, several workshops to sensitise employees are organised at Chalet.
Speaking about the certification, Sanjay Sethi, MD & CEO, Chalet Hotels Limited, said, "Our team at Chalet Hotels is made up of high energy individuals who collectively create a cohesive team that delivers a 360-degree performance of super high quality. This includes teamwork, strong bonding between colleagues and a just and fair workplace. To this culture, we owe our success! We are committed to continue with this winning formula.”
Suborna Biswas, Assistant General Manager, Human Resources at Chalet Hotels Limited, added, “We have worked hard to create a workplace that is built on equal opportunities and a culture where all our employees flourish. At Chalet Hotels, we are also working on building a genuinely inclusive learning environment through strong mentoring, laws, and various networks for women and other marginalized communities. It is an honor to win this accolade once again.” Following a meticulous screening and selection process that included cultural audits, Chalet Hotels was picked from among numerous contenders from industries including entertainment, media, technology, financial services and others.
