Water conservation and world class showering experience should go hand in hand: Asim Afsar

It is a known fact that technological wizardry enables companies to be a cut above the rest. For a company like Hansgrohe, a German sanitary fittings manufacturer, water conservation should be prioritised without compromising on performance and aesthetics This was revealed by Asim Afsar, Business Head - Hospitality & Neighbouring Countries, Hansgrohe India.

Afsar was speaking at the virtual panel discussion organised by BW HOTELIER – and Hansgrohe on "Design- Innovation to Conservation". The third episode of the weBBlast series, was titled ‘Where Innovation Meets Emotion’.

He said that “There are two technologies that we take pride in when it comes to water saving. The first one being air power technology. By virtue of this technology, we are able to make a drop of water with three parts of air and one part of water. It is just like having the pleasure of four litres of water in one litre. And when we get this mix in a drop, the size of that drop is nice and big. And when it falls from the showerhead and hits your skin, it does not bounce away but scales down giving it a very gentle massaging experience using every bit of that water. So, this 3:1 air water mix is our patented one and really helps us save a lot of water. “

Founded in 1901, in Schiltach, Germany, Hansgrohe is one of the world’s largest shower head, hand shower and tap suppliers, with a headcount of more than 5,000 people. With 34 companies and 21 sales offices all over the world, it is one of the few global players in the sanitation industry. It has supplied its products to more than 140 countries, including India.

“The second one I would like to explain about is our Eco smart technology, which has resulted in water conservation by over 60 per cent. We do the same by reducing the restrictor. This is not like a quick fix solution done by others and which impacts the performance of the product. We redesign the water channel and product design to ensure water saving along with world class showering experience,” Afsar concluded.
