Taj Lands End Mumbai turns 20

Bandra’s landmark is ready to celebrate this milestone in style!

Taj Lands End, Mumbai - the landmark luxury hotel in Bandra completes 20 years of being a Taj Hotel. Opened in 1999 as a Regent by Lokhanwala Builders, it was flagged as a marquee Taj Hotel on Ganesh Chaturthi 2002 – an auspicious day for a new beginning. In its 20th year, Taj Lands End, Mumbai is the first choice for luxury, business and leisure travellers at the picturesque Band Stand. What began as a tiny fishing village in the 17th century is now the most thriving, glamourous part of Mumbai! Frequented by celebrities, tourists, vacationers and businessmen – Taj Lands End is spread across nine acres of lush greenery with breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea and the Bandra-Worli Sea Link.

The past 20 years of Taj Lands End have had many a story to tell – from the Atrium Bar & Lounge being considered auspicious for film signings to playing host to lavish weddings and parties across its many lawns; often referred to as an urban oasis, the hotel has played host to many captains of the industry, sports heroes and bon vivants.

Commenting on the 20th anniversary, Somnath Mukherjee, Senior Vice President – West, said “Taj Lands End has truly become a landmark in the city of Mumbai. It is a proud moment for us as we raise a toast to its splendid journey over the last 20 years. Taking inspiration from IHCLs key mission Paathya – it is our endeavour to engage more actively with our neighborhood to promote its history and culture. We’ve recently launched a curated hotel walk to take our residents on a journey through the stories and anecdotes of Bandra and the hotel over the years. Post the monsoons we will also offer our discerning guests' electric cycles to explore our beautiful neighborhood at leisure. Together, we want to continue contributing to the Bandra and Mumbai.”
