Suvir Saran appointed as Culinary Director by Bastian Hospitality Private Limited
Bastian Hospitality Private Limited (BHPL), renowned for its restaurants such as Bastian and Bizza, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Suvir Saran as Culinary Director
Suvir Saran, a culinary authority born in New Delhi, boasts a remarkable culinary journey. He is the author of three celebrated cookbooks and has curated F&B concepts, menus, catered events, and culinary conferences on a global scale. Chef Saran gained fame as the breakout star of the 3rd season of Top Chef Masters and is the sole chef on the Nutrition Advisory Board at Brigham & Women’s Hospital of Harvard Medical School. He is particularly passionate about the flavours of Indian homes and regions.
At BHPL, Chef Saran will play a pivotal role in elevating the well-established homegrown F&B brand as BHPL expands its presence across India. Working closely with BHPL's senior management, he will contribute his unique insights into the global F&B industry and spearhead international growth strategies.
Ranjit Bindra, Founder & CEO of BHPL, expressed confidence in Chef Saran's appointment, stating, "BHPL has always attracted the finest talent from around the world, which is what has helped us grow into one of the country’s most respected and exciting F&B brands. With Suvir joining to steer the culinary direction of the company, I am confident that we will cement our reputation, not just in India but also abroad."
Chef Saran is equally enthusiastic about this new venture, saying, "I have been following BHPL’s trajectory since its inception, and I’m delighted to be joining a hospitality company that is so forward-thinking, committed to quality, and committed to strategic growth."
One of Chef Saran's notable achievements includes creating Devi in Manhattan, the first restaurant to win a Michelin star when the guide first arrived in North America. Devi was also the first non-Northern European and Indian restaurant to receive a Michelin star in North America. He also owned and operated Tapestry in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, before temporarily closing it to return to India for medical reasons.
BHPL's upcoming plans include launching the Bastian brand in two additional key metros and relocating Bastian Worli to a larger and more strategic location in central Mumbai. The culinary world can anticipate exciting developments under Chef Suvir Saran's guidance at BHPL.
