Rajesh Chakraborty appointed General Manager of Taj Hotel and Convention Centre Agra

Taj Hotel and Convention Centre Agra had appointed Rajesh Chakraborty as its new General Manager. Chakraborty, an accomplished leader in the hospitality industry, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to his new role.

With over 26 years of dedicated service within the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), Chakraborty has held pivotal positions across various hotels in India and internationally. His exceptional ability to nurture and expand businesses in fiercely competitive markets has been evident throughout his illustrious career. 

Prior to joining Taj Hotel and Convention Centre Agra, he served as the General Manager of Vivanta By Taj Aurangabad Maharashtra, where his strategic vision and dedicated leadership significantly contributed to the property's success and growth. His earlier role as General Manager at The Gateway Hotel Pasumalai in Madurai further exemplified his adeptness in managing diverse environments.

Chakraborty completed his Diploma in Hotel Management from Kolkata Catering College in 1997, Bachelor of Hotel Management from Annamalai University, Chennai in 2008 and Masters in Personal Management from Dr. Babasaheb Marathwada University Aurangabad, Maharashtra in 2020. His hospitality journey began with The Oberoi Group, where he started in the F&B team and steadily rose through the ranks. His extensive experience covers Operations Management, Project Management, Strategic Planning, Resource Planning, Conceptualisation, Financial Budgeting and Control, Sales and Marketing, Team Building, Human Resource Management, Training and Development, Public Relations, Relationship Management, Vendor Appointment and Management.

His passion for the hospitality industry is evident through his innovative concepts in food and beverage and his expertise in hotel operations, encompassing both accommodations and food services. His ability to navigate and resolve challenging situations with grace has been commendable throughout his career. Recognised for his transparent work culture and swift decision-making skills, he fosters a balanced value approach for all stakeholders and emphasises team development.
