RAAS Hotels announces five key appointments

While Saurajit Nanda has become Operations Manager, Prasoon Pandey has become GM at RAAS Jodhpur and Sanjeev Sharma is the GM at RAAS Devigarh. Vaneet Wadhera has become the GM at Rajmahal Palace RAAS Jaipur and Devendra Singh Rathore is the Camp Manager at RAAS Chhatrasagar

RAAS Hotels has announced a few key appointments. Prasoon Pandey has been appointed as General Manager at RAAS Jodhpur. An alumnus of The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development, Pandey’s an industry veteran with over 20 years of experience. While he has joined the group from Vana, Dehradun where he was the General Manager, his resume includes instrumental roles in the opening of such hallmark properties as The Oberoi, Udaivilas, Trident BKC Mumbai and The Oberoi, New Delhi. Pandey brings with him a wealth of knowledge across various hospitality departments. “Together, with my tremendously driven, dedicated and diverse team, I hope to achieve even greater milestones and improve the guest experience at RAAS,” said Pandey, commenting on his new role.

Meanwhile, Sanjeev Sharma has become the General Manager at RAAS Devigarh. Sharma joined RAAS in 2015 as Executive Chef after having helmed hotel kitchens in India and the UK. He soon also took over as Head, F&B Operations and has pioneered the hotel’s conceptual dining offerings, including its Ayurveda-centric menus. Prior to RAAS, through his 20-year career Sharma has worked with noted hotel chains such as The Oberoi, Marriott, Radisson and Hilton. Sharma took over as General Manager in June 2022. “I always believe in the phrase ‘Good is not good when better is expected’,” said Sharma who intends to excel in his new role by creating experiences – culinary and otherwise – to remember.

RAAS Chhatrasagar has appointed Devendra Singh Rathore as Camp Manager. Rathore has risen up the ranks at RAAS through sheer hard work and perseverance. He joined RAAS in 2007 as a management trainee at RAAS Devigarh. After earning his stripes in Housekeeping at that property, Rathore moved to RAAS Jodhpur as Executive Housekeeper. Through his stint at the property, he also managed operations of the Stepwell Café. “RAAS Chhatrasagar is unlike any other property, even within RAAS,” said Rathore. “As a luxury campsite on a rewilded estate it’s rich in natural experiences, which makes it very special. I hope to bring all the experience I have gathered through my years at RAAS to make the guest experience equally rich and special, if not more.”

At Rajmahal Palace RAAS Jaipur, Vaneet Wadhera has become General Manager. Before joining RAAS in 2021, Wadhera was the Executive Chef at Indian Accent, New York. Over his 28-year career, Wadhera’s cheffed, managed hotels and opened restaurants across India and in destinations like Hong Kong and New York. In 2014, he was awarded the Silver Hat by the Indian Culinary Forum, a top honour for any Indian chef. “Rajmahal is an iconic property and it’s a privilege to lead the guest experience here,” said Wadhera. “Over the years it’s come to be known for its eclectic design. But even in the short time I’ve been here, we’ve upped our culinary game and have cherry-picked a set of unique experiences that will show visitors the various facets of Jaipur. The path forward, as I see it, leads up and up.”

Furthermore, Saurajit Nanda has been appointed as Operations Manager. Nanda joined RAAS Jodhpur back in 2015, as an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager. His excellent administrative skills saw him rise up the corporate ladder to become Food & Beverage Manager and later as Camp Manager at RAAS Chhatrasagar, in 2018. A position he held till he accepted his new assignment, at Rajmahal, earlier this year. “From being serious about Mother Earth, a sustainable lifestyle, living plastic free and even convincing my family and friends about caring for nature and people around us, RAAS has impacted my life in many ways. I strongly feel my extended family is here who cares for me,” said Nanda.
