Courtyard By Marriott Shillong has appointed Pawan Kumar as their new Food and Beverage (F&B) Manager. An accomplished management professional with a remarkable career spanning over eight years in food and beverage operations, Kumar has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to financial and regulatory compliance objectives, while strategically planning and executing budgets, forecasts, cost-reduction techniques, and safety initiatives.

With a Bachelors' degree in Hotel & Hospitality Management and Catering Science from College of Hospitality Administration Jaipur, he has achieved notable certifications, including the prestigious Hyatt on Skills certification. His dedication to excellence has been recognised and celebrated, earning him accolades such as the Hystar of the Year 2013-2014 award and the Corona/ Covid Warrior Award on International Hospitality Day from IIHM, IHC in 2021.

Prior to his current role, Kumar has worked with some of the leading hotels in the country, such as Hyatt Regency, Lucknow, Hyatt Regency, Ludhiana and Lalit, Jaipur. Recognised as an innovative leader, he has introduced groundbreaking concepts and successfully launched notable ventures. Additionally, he has successfully handled operations for city-wide events like Defexpo and BCCI T-20 Cricket matches between India and Sri Lanka within bio bubble settings, demonstrating his ability to navigate complex logistical and safety requirements.
