The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake brings Chef Sashikumar Cheliah for first time for special sit-down dinner

India’s most-awaited International Food Festival, World on a Plate, is back. And this time bigger than ever as The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake brings MasterChef Australia Season 10 winner Chef Sashikumar Cheliah to the property. 

Singapore-born Australian cook Sashikumar Cheliah returns to his roots with this very special culinary experience at Nawab Saheb, the legendary Indian restaurant, that pays homage to the chef’s love for tradition, culture and exploration through stories that have travelled for years.

Chef Cheliah was declared winner of the 10th season of Masterchef Australia in 2018. Prior to being a part of the MasterChef family, his passion for food was evident even as a teenager. “Cooking was the only thing I could do well besides law enforcement,” he says. After winning MasterChef, he opened a small pop-up café and later launched his first restaurant in 2019 which serves dishes influenced by Indian, Singaporean, and Malaysian cuisines. 

This month, the legendary Chef will be cooking up a storm in the city at none other than The Westin Powai. Enjoy the delicious dishes of an incredibly talented Chef who captured the heart of Australia on his journey to realize his passion for cooking. Chef Sashi Cheliah won millions of hearts with his methodical approach and delicious, spice-laden Indian and Malaysian food.
