It remains important to not forget the human element of emotions in design: Gaurav Malhotra

Speaking at the ‘Design Innovation to Conservation’ weBBlast series organised by BW HOTELIER in association with Hansgrohe, Gaurav Malhotra, feels that design is becoming futuristic, but it remains important to not forget the human element of emotions in design.

Gaurav Malhotra, MD India, and Regional Key Accounts Asia, Hansgrohe, was speaking at the third show of the weBBlast series, themed, ‘Where Innovation Meets Emotion’. He began his keynote address by introducing the company. He said, “It was founded in 1901 by a genuine pioneer – Hans Grohe, the German sanitary manufacturer company Hansgrohe delivers human-centric water experiences. The group has two distinct brands AXOR and hansgrohe.  AXOR, where form follows perfection, it is the design brand for luxurious bathrooms and kitchens since 1993. Elaborating on the design collaborations they have he added, “We work extensively with world renowned designers and architects, like the Phoenix group, Patricia Urquiola, Phillippe Starck, Antonio Citterio, Barber and Osgerby, Jean-Marie Massaud and design house Nendo. It is because of these collaborations that we have received more than 600 internationally renowned design awards. And in some of the ratings of design, we have been ranked higher than Apple for some of our designs repeatedly.”

He stated that AXOR STARCK V is one of the most emotional, sensual, water experience in the bathroom especially in the washbasin. It's one of the most popular designs with the designers and what makes it so exclusive is the use of crystal which shows the passage and vitality of water. It was introduced in 2014 by Phillippe Starck.” 

He further said that individually the elements mean nothing, but if you blend them, they can create magic. Similarly, it's not about just the faucet but about the water and the experience that gets created with the water. AXOR MASSAUD showcases nature and its elements in perfection and offers great balance and harmony, comfort and freedom- for your body. It was introduced in 2006 by Jean-Marie Massaud.  AXOR MYEDITION showcased individuality in expression, it was created in 2019 by Phoenix. Various materials were blended not just in terms of finishes but also materials. Finishes like Nappa Leather, Walnut Veneer Wood, Vena Doro Marble, Nero Marquina Limestone and Metal, Glass. 

He opinionated, “Each of us need relaxing moments to gain new strength, recover from stress & tension and find peace of mind, which is what we offer.”
