To be responsible for driving sustainable hotel performance in the existing UK&I estate

IHG Hotels & Resorts has appointed Joanna Kurowska as the new managing director in its home market of the UK & Ireland. Kurowska will be responsible for driving sustainable hotel performance in the existing UK&I estate as well as collaborating with owners and investors to maximise the growth potential of IHG's brands. As the UK reopens following recent restrictions, Kurowska is focussed on providing true hospitality for guests in the safest possible manner as she leads the responsible recovery of IHG's business in the UK&I during a period of growth for the region.

Kurowska's promotion comes after a 10-year career at IHG Hotels & Resorts which began at InterContinental Warsaw as Director of Finance & Business Support before moving on to a number of finance and operational roles across Europe, most recently in Frankfurt as Director of Operations for Northern Europe. Joanna is also a member of IHG's Europe Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Board. The Council is made up of colleagues from across the region who are passionate about shaping priorities and pushing for progress in line with IHG's passion and commitment to DE&I, which is central to the company's mission of providing True Hospitality for Good to guests, hotels, owners, colleagues, and communities.

In the United Kingdom and Ireland, IHG currently operates 358 hotels under eight brands, including InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants, Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Hotel Indigo, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Express, and Staybridge Suites.
