Agoda reveals budget-friendly Christmas and New Year's Eve getaways

As the year-end festivities approach, Agoda has unveiled its list of the most affordable travel destinations for Christmas and New Year's Eve celebrations across the Asia-Pacific region. Among the budget-friendly options, Goa in India has emerged as the most economical tourist hotspot, with an average room rate of INR 7,621 between December 22 and December 31.

The report is based on Agoda’s comprehensive analysis of accommodation rates during this peak holiday period, highlighting the most wallet-friendly options for travellers seeking to make the most of their year-end vacations. This year's list includes a diverse range of destinations, each offering unique experiences for tourists.   

Krishna Rathi, Country Director India, Sri Lanka, and Maldives at Agoda, commented, "Whether you're on a solo adventure or making memories with loved ones, travelling during peak season means higher demand, so finding that special bargain can make all the difference.” The list further includes the top ten most affordable destinations in the Asia-Pacific region, along with their average room rates. " By highlighting the tourist destinations with the most affordable average accommodation rates, Agoda helps travellers celebrate the year-end in style, whatever their budget." Rathi added. 

1. Hat Yai, Thailand - INR 3,562 - Known for trendy coffee shops, vibrant nightlife, and delicious seafood.

2. Yogyakarta, Indonesia - INR 4,639 - Dubbed the "Cultural Heart of Java" with rich Javanese culture and historical sites. 

3.Kuching, Malaysia- INR 4,970 - A beautiful city known for its diverse culture, delicious food, and stunning natural scenery. 

4. Dalat, Vietnam - INR 5,633 - A charming mountain town transformed into a winter wonderland during the holiday season.
