Daikin India Chairman & MD KJ Jawa appointed as President of RAMA

RAMA members include all the leading national and international brands including some well-known global brands for whom India is a major market

Chairman & MD of Daikin India KJ Jawa has been appointed as the President of the Refrigeration & Air-conditioning Manufacturers Association (RAMA) which represents the manufacturers of the air conditioning and refrigeration (AC&R) Industry in India.

The Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Manufacturers Association (RAMA) in an official statement said the under the leadership of the new President, RAMA will commence work on various taskforces and actions with the Government of India on several Initiatives regarding improving energy efficiency of Air-conditioners and facilitating an extensive range of products for the Indian and overseas markets with focus on using alternate refrigerants with new features that aid Safety and health.

Speaking on the occasion, KJ Jawa, President, RAMA, said, "My role will further underline RAMA's vision to aid India's sustainable cooling transition, meet the goals of the India Cooling Action Plan, India's Kigali implementation strategy, industrial growth of the AC&R industry, the Production-Linked Incentive Scheme for white goods, increasing access to energy efficient and lower-GWP technology, responsible use of zero ODS and low GWP refrigerants and corresponding equipment, and strengthening India's cold chain infrastructure."

RAMA members include all the leading national and international brands including some well-known global brands for whom India is a major market. RAMA's goal is to create Global Champions in the Air-conditioning & Refrigeration business by developing a robust supply chain and our members are committed on setting up new facilities and investing in Global research Centres operating out of India.
