Chef Roberto Apa Appointed at Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway to Lead Bene

He will look after complete kitchen operations of Bene, which has already attained a repute of being the finest Italian fine dining restaurant in the city.

CHEF ROBERTO Apa is the newly appointed Italian Chef who has been entrusted to manage culinary operations of the award-winning signature Italian restaurant Bene at Sheraton Grand Bangalore at Brigade Gateway. He will look after complete kitchen operations of Bene, which has already attained a repute of being the finest Italian fine dining restaurant in the city. He will be responsible to showcase his gastronomical expertise through contemporary Italian dishes with unmatched flavours.

Roberto is a seasoned professional known for curating a timeless culinary extravaganza that saw him perform magic in the kitchen for over 15 years. He has in all these years attained great knowledge and experience in Italian cuisine that will prove to be an asset at his newly appointed hotel. His sheer passion for food and love for cooking took him to some of the exotic locales in Italy, China and Monte Carlo that further flourished his culinary skill set. 

He began his career with Hotel Sandeste Varcaturo, Napoli where he served his apprenticeship as pastry and delicatessen commis in the year 2006. He later moved to Restaurant Patanega in 2007 where he spent one full year as Chef de commis and the following two years as Commis de partie and then Chef de partie in the Pastry laboratory in Napoli. Later, he was associated with some famed establishments across Italy between 2010 to 2012.

Roberto moved to China in April 2012 and held the position of Chef de cuisine at two Italian restaurants i.e. TiamunSan Lu, Shanghai and Ping Hai Lu, HangZou between April 2012 to March 2013 and followed it up with Michelin starred restaurants Ristorante II Buco of Chef Peppe Aversa and Ristorante II Postale of Chef Marco Bistarelli, Perugia. Prior to joining Bene, he was working with Tritalo Burger & Tartare as Chef Consultant and chef resident.

He has studied at AMLA – National Academy of Italian Cuisine that covered History of Italian and international cuisine, HACCP, food chemistry and other related subjects. Hetakes great pleasure in reading historical books. A man who loves to take to the waters at every given opportunity, his favourite hobbies include swimming and other recreational sports.
