Chalet Hotels Limited’s Delhi airport hotel to be a Taj

It is expected that the hotel will be commissioned by FY26

Last year, major hospitality property developer Chalet Hotels Limited had won the contract by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) to develop a property at the T3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. Today, Chalet has announced that the hotel will be a Taj-branded property, and a franchise agreement to this effect has been signed between Chalet CEO Sanjay Sethi and Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) CEO and MD Puneet Chhatwal.

With this, the new hotel, that would have around 400 keys, would offer luxury stays to people in close proximity to the airport. As per a statement made by the two companies, the property would be located at a short walk from T2 as well as T3 of the Delhi airport.

Apart from an all-day diner, a specialty restaurant, a bar, and a lobby lounge, the property will also have banqueting space of about 6,000 sq ft, along with a swimming pool, a gym and a spa.

This is the ninth property in Chalet’s exquisite portfolio of luxury offerings. It is expected that the hotel will be commissioned by FY26.

The project is quite significant for Chalet Hotels Limited, as it marks the developer’s of entry into North India. Speaking on the development of this key project being branded a Taj, Sanjay Sethi, Managing Director & CEO, Chalet Hotels Limited, said, “We are delighted to partner with IHCL for our upcoming hotel in New Delhi with signing of this Franchise agreement. It was a well thought out decision to choose the ‘Taj’ brand for this marque asset. We look forward to a grand opening of the Taj at the New Delhi Airport in a couple of years.”
