The company has been accorded the highest rating: LEED Platinum (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), making ITC Hotels amongst the First and Largest chain of hotels in the World, with 18 LEED Platinum Certified Properties. Talking specifically about ITC Hotels’ Golden Triangle hotels (ITC Maurya - New Delhi, ITC Grand Bharat - Gurugram, ITC Rajputana - Jaipur and ITC Mughal - Agra) here is an insight into 12 distinctive features that set these hotels apart:

ITC Maurya is built to the highest standards of sustainability and is certified as the world's first LEED EB* Platinum rated hotel by the US Green Building Council (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design in the existing building category).

ITC Maurya is amongst the first in the hospitality landscape to have set a new benchmark in indoor air quality by maintaining the PM 2.5 level better than WHO safe standard limits. (WHO Std : 25 micro gram/m3, at ITC Maurya: 10 – 15 micro gram/m3).

ITC Maurya uses 23 per cent less energy than USGBC’s national average for large size Luxury Hotels.

ITC Grand Bharat, Gurgaon has been awarded Platinum rating under LEED India NC programme.

ITC Grand Bharat uses 43.1 per cent less energy than ASHRAE 90.1 Benchmark for Energy efficiency and has an energy efficient building envelope design to reduce solar gains.

At ITC Grand Bharat over 49 per cent of materials used for Construction were locally procured and there is usage of LED lamps that are energy efficient and have no mercury content.

ITC Rajputana is the first and only LEED Platinum hotel with the highest score in existing building category in Rajasthan. The building is designed in such a manner that more than 50 per cent of the area have outdoor view which ensures maximum daylight use.

The solar power plant at ITC Rajputana is with a capacity of 100 KW. This is one of the largest on-site renewable energy production within a hotel in Rajasthan.

ITC Rajputana uses 20 per cent less energy and 39.3 per cent less water than USGBC’s national average for large size Luxury Hotel.

ITC Mughal has a rain water harvesting capacity of 64 per cent of the peak rainfall. This helps in reducing water demand and run-off. It helps to increase in ground water recharge.

At ITC Mughal, more than 99 per cent of the total solid waste is either reused or recycled through Recycling programmes or converted into manure by Organic Waste Converter.

More than 65 per cent of ongoing consumables used at ITC Mughal are either local or recycled. Low Volatile Organic Compounds paints and Forest Stewardship Council certified wood is used for refurbishments and renovations.

ITC Hotels has also been focused on initiatives addressing health and wellbeing and over the years introduced many initiatives like heightened focus on Indoor Air Quality, installation of Radiation harmonizers that mitigate the harmful effects of radiation at all ITC Hotels and the Sleep Programme which addresses multiple parameters aimed at enhancing the quality of sleep from interventions on controlling decibel levels in the room to lighting, fragrance & aromas to introduction of a sleep menu designed to promote the biological aspect of sleep quality using select food ingredients from across the world.
