Indian travelers continue to remain eager to indulge in gastronomical delights and deep dive into arts and culture

Republic Day, January 26 2023, is just around the corner. Preceded by National Tourism Day, and succeeded by a long weekend, it’s but obviously the break everyone has been waiting for. Online Travel Platform Agoda has released their search data for the upcoming Republic Day weekend, which features Goa, Pondicherry, Mumbai, New Delhi and Jaipur as the top destinations Indians are seeking to slip away to. 

According to Agoda’s recent Travel Trend Survey, globally, wellness, adventure and reuniting with loved ones ranked high on the priority list. In comparison and true to tradition, Indian travelers continue to remain eager to indulge in gastronomical delights and deep dive into arts and culture, making it their top travel goals for the calendar year. 

We take a look at things to do in these cities, driven by the key motivations for Indians to travel in 2023. 

Goa

While Goa is also known as the party district of India, you can’t ignore the tranquility of its beaches, the serenity of its forests or the thrill of chasing its waters. Head North to unleash the daredevil in you, and enjoy adrenaline inducing activities like paragliding, parasailing, scuba diving or kayaking. Head South to unwind and relax along the shorelines of the quieter beaches of Palolem and Majorda. Rent a bike or explore on foot, Goa’s colorful streets will definitely steal your heart.

Pondicherry

Also, a beach town, Pondicherry is the epitome of peace and wellness, nestled in the South of India. Jaipur
