delWine Awards India's First Wine Industry-Centric Recognition A Grand Success
The award function, which were partially decided by a jury co-chaired by India's first Master of Wine, Sonal Holland and Subhash Arora, President of the Indian Wine Academy, also had a public perception section where popular votes was the criterion for a win.

INDIA’S FIRST ever awards dedicated to wine industry, the delWine awards saw industry owners and staff, wine service professionals in five-star hotels and restaurants, wine retailers and importers, and promoters of wine tourism all being recognised for their contribution to the wine industry.
The awards and wine showcase was held in New Delhi at the Pullman New Delhi Aerocity on September 14, 2016.
The jury for the awards was co-chaired by Sonal Holland, India's first Master of Wine, and Subhash Arora, President of the India Wine Academy. There were also several popular perception awards which were decided via public vote.
delWine also announced that their second award and show would take place in Mumbai on January 2017.
The awards were given during a grand sit down dinner. The show was preceeded by a World of Wine showcase which saw more than 120 labels up for sampling by the gathering.
Here are the award winners of the evening. There was a tie for the Jury Awards for Best Sommelier of the Year (Five-Star Hotel) and the Popular Perception Award for Best Importer. Subhash Arora held back giving away the delWine Editor's Choice Award for the Best Value for Money Wine List of the Year (Five Star Hotel) because he believed that in the last 15-odd years in which five-star hotels have taken advantage of the duty-free imports scheme, they have not consistently passed on the price benefit to consumers
