Wellness and immunity with Ayurveda

In an interview, Urvashi Mehta, GM - Sales & Marketing, Carnoustie Ayurveda & Wellness Resort, Kerala shares how it is more relevant than ever to go back to our roots and imbibe Ayurveda to improve immunity during these times.

Why is it more relevant than ever to adopt our traditional therapies of Ayurveda in the current scenario?

It is most important to adopt to traditional therapies in the current scenario as they build our immunity system. Yoga aasanas help to regulate our breathing, daily pranayam keeps our mind calm and focused. Ayurveda identifies the human body doshas and builds a diet and nutrition plan around the need of the specific individual. This helps in boosting metabolism and immunity, maintaining healthy body weight and gaining true knowledge of the nutrition value of food. All these are available at our Resort – Carnoustie Ayurveda & Wellness located at Marari Beach in Kerala.

What makes your resort stand out among other luxury hotels offering luxurious wellness?

What differentiates Carnoustie Ayuveda Resort in the luxury wellness category is the size of the Villas 236 square meters of space – with timber laden villas with private pools. The villas are a true reflection of style, elegance and technology. The meditation spaces, open spaces and therapies being given in private villas now keeping all norms of social distancing in mind, are a clear differentiator of the Resort.

Which Ayurveda therapies are popular with clients for wellness and good health?

In the current scenario – our entire focus is on “non-touch” or distant therapies. These include yoga sessions, Pranayam, Pranic healing, distance healing, meditation, diet & nutrition. We are soon launching individual programmes and E- learning on all these to keep our guests engaged and informed.

Where do you source your natural ingredients from for use in the different therapies?

We use 47 different types of ingredients in our Ayurveda food which are all grown organically at the resort itself. Further all our spa products like essential oils, handmade soaps and products are all produced within our Resort.

What activities have you undertaken to give back to society?

A visit to the local churches, temples, and orphanage is included in our guest programmes – its called the mind, body and soul connect at Carnoustie Ayurveda & Wellness Resort. Besides these local employment, education of children, managing old age homes and churches are many of the activities undertaken by the resort to integrate and give back to the local community.

Have you developed any Ayurvedic disinfectants and sanitizers?

We have developed our own range of sanitizers, disinfectants and spa products which are completely chemical free. We have also developed some E – Books for distant learning for our guests and these are available online.
