Voosh raises pre-seed funding and launches India’s first Virtual Restaurant Chain

Voosh raised pre-seed funding led by Better Capital launches and launched India’s first Virtual Restaurant Chain backed by its decentralised kitchen partners.

India's first virtual restaurant brands company, Voosh, recently raised of a pre-seed round of funding led by Better Capital. The company will use the fund to build Voosh OS products to optimise kitchen operations and expand to over 50 kitchens.

Priyam Saraswat, co-founder, and CEO, Voosh said, "At Voosh, our goal is to create India's most trusted family of delivery-only brands by catering to the needs of customers by location while empowering our restaurant kitchen partners to improve their monthly earnings. We see a win-win for our customers as well as restaurant partners as we unlock demand and create personalized options by the time of the day as well as by location."

Priyam Saraswat is an IIT Guwahati alumnus who led the launch of Oyo in China. He was previously the founder of a bike-sharing startup, Tazzobikes. Kshitiz Sanghi is an ISB alumnus and was part of the growth team at Samsung. During his undergrad, he also had a food startup, which he had spread to 10 cities in India.

The unorganised foodservice market amounts to over 90%, roughly equal to $80 billion, and is increasing day by day. Due to a lack of data-driven planning and execution, India executes 2M orders/pay compared to 40M orders/ day delivered by China. Voosh bridges the gap by incorporating a data-driven approach and asset-light model to monitor and improve menus, pricing, and customer satisfaction.

"Delivery is solved. Food is not," said Vaibhav Domkundwar, CEO and Founder, Better Capital

"With a strong food delivery network in place, Voosh is innovating with a unique decentralized kitchen partner model to bring high quality and affordable food brands to customers while enabling independent restaurant owners with a profitable business model. We are excited to partner with Voosh from ground zero," he added.

Currently, Voosh partners with independent restaurants as its cloud kitchens and delivers food using Voosh OS, a technology-powered model ensuring compliance & operational effectiveness.

Voosh OS observes a strict compliance and certification process for all its kitchens to guarantee quality and hygiene. It also ensures streamlined operations at every kitchen, from order management, supply chain to pricing and discounts.

With a Voosh-branded location nearby, customers will get a uniform taste and experience as well as a wide range of cuisines as the company plans to create cuisine-focused sites and brands.

Voosh is presently operating at 8 locations in Bengaluru.
