Vishal Atreya Becomes JW Marriott Juhu's New Exec Chef

Atreya started his culinary journey as a trainee with The Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi. In 2010, he moved on to The Imperial Hotel, New Delhi as the Executive Sous Chef. He later joined The Ritz Carlton LLC in 2013 as the Executive Sous Chef.

CHEF VISHAL Atreya has been appointed as the new Executive Chef at JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu. With an illustrious career of over 16 years, he brings with him vast knowledge and understanding of the hospitality industry.

After graduating from the Institute of Hotel Management in Chandigarh, Atreya started his culinary journey as a trainee with The Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi. In 2010, he moved on to The Imperial Hotel, New Delhi as the Executive Sous Chef. He later joined The Ritz Carlton LLC in 2013 as the Executive Sous Chef. During his journey, he has explored various cuisines across the globe enhancing his culinary repertoire, dwelling in search of the right ingredients and learning the rustic nuances of mastering a dish.

Atreya has also worked with Ananda in the Himalayas where he explored another aspect of food which is related to health and wellness. While working there for three years, he learnt the concept of amalgamating Ayurveda with food. His last role was at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar as the Executive Chef where he utilized his expertise in Italian cuisine to the fullest amongst other roles that he undertook at the property.

With his vast experience and deep understanding of an insatiable demand for a delectable fare, he has gained expertise in catering to large banquets and also spearheaded operations across bars, lounges and fine dining restaurants making his culinary journey remarkable.

His passion, zeal and dedication towards food at every stage has helped him evolve into a versatile personality thus accepting various roles. Atreya firmly believes that ingredients are the key elements of his food philosophy and ascertains the usage of freshest, seasonal and local produce strictly sourced for their quality and provenance.
