Uttarakhand to host International Yog Festival 2021 in Rishikesh

The International Yog Festival 2021 will celebrate the age-old Indian practice of traditional yog, contemporary yog, therapeutic yog with discussions on celebrating ‘Shakti- the power of creation from March 1 to March 7, 2021.

Uttarakhand is all set to host the International Yog Festival from March 1 to March 7, 2021, in the yog capital Rishikesh. Hosted every year around this time, the festival is one of the most happening festivals in the country for yog and spiritual enthusiasts. The International Yog Festival 2021 this year is celebrating the vision to raise awareness worldwide about the benefit of Yog in daily life. 

Tourism Minister, Uttarakhand Satpal Maharaaz said, “International Yog festival will be conducted from March 1 to  March 7 in yog city Rishikesh. Rishikesh has always been the choicest location for saints, sages and yog gurus. I am extremely delighted to welcome all the yog enthusiastic people and tourists to Rishikesh to experience the traditional and ethnic yog culture of India. With the practicing of different yogasanas, you all will be able to achieve mental and physical fitness."

This year, the festival in Rishikesh will celebrate the age-old Indian practice of traditional yog, contemporary yog, therapeutic yog with discussions on celebrating ‘Shakti- the power of creation. 

Secretary Tourism Dilip Jawalkar said, “We are regularly working with all the activities proposed for the International Yog Festival 2021. We are also ensuring that we keep proper precaution in place for the tourists especially amid Covid-19.”

This year, the festival will see some practices from the very ancient techniques. The yog sessions will be taken by experienced yoga practitioners where attendees will get a chance to learn about the ancient art of detoxifying the body, mind, and soul. 

Adding further about the event, MD Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) and also the organising head of the event Ashish Chauhan said, “ Ganga Resort, Rishikesh will be hosting the International Yog Festival. Apart from all the activities we will have big names like  Gaur Gopal Das, Swami Avdeshanand Giri, Acharya Balkrishna, Sister BK Shivani. Performances by Shri Hansraj Raghuvanshi, Mohit Chauhan, Rajnish Mishra, Ritesh Mishra, Susmit Sen, Indra Naik and other artists will add on to the beauty of the festival. We have kept the registration open for all which can also be done offline.

Yog enthusiasts will also be provided with a 50 hours Yog Training Certificate along with this they will get a chance to learn more about Ayurveda & Naturopathy, Acupressure /Marma/ Sujok, Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine, Astrology and Tarot Card, Chakra Healing, NeuroTherapies, Past Life Regression, Pranichealing and others. The event will also have Uttarakhand Haat where the attendees can shop goods for all yog related needs and experience the taste and culture of Uttarakhand.
