Unveiling the Secrets of Italian Cuisine at The Imperial

The Chefs presented their first look at an Italian Masterclass featuring a few of their signature recipes from their respective regions. The session was organized in close alliance with Chef Prem K Pogakula, Executive Chef at The Imperial.

SAN GIMIGNANO at The Imperial brings to the capital, Executive Chef Attilio Di Fabrizio and Executive Chef Roberto Gatto from Belmond Villa San Michele, Florence and Belmond Hotel Cipriani to unveil the secrets of Italian cuisine, in a two week festival ending on 11th Feb 2018.The Chefs presented their first look at an Italian Masterclass featuring a few of their signature recipes from their respective regions. The session was organized in close alliance with Chef Prem K Pogakula, Executive Chef at The Imperial.

Chef Fabrizio while demonstrating his own unique recipes said, “I believe simple cuisine is probably the best and our aim of this master class is to teach the simple cooking techniques which anyone can cook in their home.”

 The recipes featured Fiesole style potato dumplings with fresh tomato and basil along with the classic Tiramisu by Chef Fabrizio and Risotto Con Aspargi Bianchi (White asparagus risotto) by Chef Gatto.

Vijay Wanchoo, Sr. Executive VP and GM, The Imperial while addressing the media fraternity said “We are delighted to associate with Belmond Hotels, Italy and elevate the authentic and award-winning Tuscan dining experience at San Gimignano at The Imperial. The result of this extraordinary partnership by the two veteran hotels is an exclusive culinary extravaganza in the capital. Chef Fabrizio from Florence will wield his magic till 4th February 2018 and then Chef Gatto from Venice will impress Italian food lovers from 5th February till 11th February 2018.”

Speaking about the collaboration, chef Pogakula said, “This programme is not about making money, rather than to exchange cultures. We from San Gimignano’s team will be going to Belmond in the month of October and November to showcase and promote Indian cuisine in Italy. Currently we are coming up with a fresh menu.”
