To Encourage Women Entrepreneurship in Travel Sector: PP Khanna, President, ADTOI

More encouragement will be given to women entrepreneurship to join ADTOI network and adopt measures to enhance women empowerment in the travel sector.

WITH THE ADTOI’s biennial elections held in August this year, the new team for the 2018-20 period saw re-election of PP Khanna of Diplomatic Travel Point as the President of Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) for a second term.

As President, PP Khanna has always endeavoured to enhance business opportunities for ADTOI members. “Our state/UT chapters play a very important role in promoting tourism with the support of the tourism bodies and undertaking various promotional activities such as membership drive within the association. This year, more emphasis will be given towards strengthening and empowering chapters by active participation of the chapter members,” he said.

With a plan to conduct road shows and travel exhibitions for members to create cross selling and inter regional business opportunities, Khanna wants to establish member to member connect within ADTOI and promote business networking within the association through video conferencing. “In association with the State tourism boards more and more tourism workshops, webinars, online training programmes and educational trips will be organised for the members,” he added.

Talking about the awards and recognition for members, he plans to constitute ‘ADTOI Awards’ and organise annual recognition event to honour and acknowledge the contribution of its members alongside the mandatory festival celebrations, annual family event, sports and cultural involvement with CSR activities.

In addition to this, more encouragement will be given to women entrepreneurship to join ADTOI network by way of adopting measures to enhance women empowerment in travel trade sector. “We will utilise our media partners to get more mileage of our events and tie ups with national media for branding and promotion and ensure better synergy with the Ministry of tourism, State tourism boards, FAITH and other trade associations,” he informed.
