Thermowaste Solutions ties up with leading hotel chains to reduce plastic footprint

As the hotels take steps forward to eliminate plastic from their property, the company helps them track and measure their performance to make sure they move toward that end goal.

Thermowaste Solutions (a Swachh Bharat initiative by Micro Gartex Industries) is targeting bigger five-star hotel chains across India who have now started considering Sustainability and Waste Recycling as key ingredients to their success going forward. The waste recycling company is currently working with backpacker’s hostel chain LivUp across their location as well as hotels such as Hotel Jaswant Bhawan in Bikaner and Jaipur.

Commenting on the development, Bhagyashree Bhansali Jain, Director Thermowaste Solutions said, “The demand for sustainable luxury is real. We are entering an era where experiences matter more than physical objects. And consumers still expect luxury, but they also want to know that it’s not at the expense of devastating the environment.”

“They are demanding innovative solutions to replace plastic. Therefore it is important for the Luxury Hotel industry to develop an internal culture of sustainability. The longevity of businesses today and in the future will depend largely on how “human-centric” and eco-friendly we can make them,” she added.

Thermowaste is now targeting bigger five-star hotel chains such as Fairmont, Royal Orchid and Marriott across India who have now started considering Sustainability and Waste Recycling as key ingredients to their success going forward. They help the hotels to reduce their Plastic Footprint either via Plastic Credits, by recycling the waste generated at their properties or by replacing certain resources at the hotel properties with sustainable alternatives such as tiles made from recycled HDPE granules or sheds made from recycled EPS pellets.

The company further tracks and measures their partners’ performance to make sure they move toward that end goal. They create regular reports to maintain accountability and share with all parties concerned the progress being made and the expected positive Return on Investment, even when the return isn’t necessarily of monetary value.
