TGL Company Forays into Luxury Coffee Segment; Looking for its Retail Expansion

TGL Co. a 15-month-old Indian start-up has expanded rapidly in the B2B segment with its teas now available at popular properties such as Taj Hotels, Hyatt Regency, Westin, SOFITEL, The Lalit, Yauatcha, Hakkasan, Smoke House Deli, Theobroma, Fatty Bao and more.

THE INDIAN tea and coffee market is growing rapidly and is expected to touch Rs 25,000 Crore by 2021, of which coffee constitutes Rs 5,000 Crore. Sensing potential growth in this sector, TGL Co. (The Good Life Company), a luxury tea company have forayed into the luxury coffee segment. They have classified their coffee into four collections - International, Indian, Flavoured and Instant Coffees.  

TGL Co. a 15-month-old Indian start-up has expanded rapidly in the B2B segment with its teas now available at more than 160 hotels, restaurants and cafes across nine cities including popular properties such as Taj Hotels, Hyatt Regency, Westin, SOFITEL, The Lalit, Yauatcha, Hakkasan, Smoke House Deli, Theobroma, Fatty Bao and more.

The company will also be launching their international website for teas and coffees soon and will begin selling on Amazon Launchpad EU and UK shortly thereafter. They are currently available at Godrej Natures Basket stores across Mumbai and Bengaluru - Bandra, Powai, Oberoi Mall, Worli, Churchgate, Warden Road, Prabhadevi and yet to be launched Juhu store in Mumbai, while Gear School Road (GSR), Whitefield, Indiranagar and Sadashivnagar in Bengaluru. “In terms of retail outlets, we are looking at Delhi, Pune and Chennai,” mentioned Dani.

Speaking about the company’s entry into a new segment, Bhuman Dani, Co-founder, TGL Co. said, “We stand apart from most coffee players by offering freshest coffees sourced from the best plantations around the world, and from India, which is freshly roasted and ground on demand.”

“We have branded ourselves as "Luxury Coffees" to cater to the growing number of aspirational Indian households (20M more households over the next five years) that are looking for coffees they can aspire about while still not having to pay a hefty amount for them,” Dani further added.

The coffee beans are sourced from the plantations globally including Ethiopian Yirgachaffe, Colombian Excelso, El Salvador Santa Cristina, Peruvian Organic Coffee, Brazilian Santos and coffee beans from the plantations in India.
