Switzerland to lift all COVID-related travel restrictions on May 2

Switzerland’s State Secretariat of Migration (SEM) has lifted all entry restrictions that it had put in place throughout the duration of the pandemic

From May 2, Switzerland, which is one of the most preferred travel destinations among Indians, is set to welcome travellers from across the world as it did before the pandemic. Switzerland’s State Secretariat of Migration (SEM) has lifted all entry restrictions that it had put in place throughout the duration of the pandemic. The country would now be open to all with only the general travel rules applicable for entry to the country, as before the pandemic.

Ritu Sharma, Deputy Director and Marketing Head, India, said, “Switzerland tops the wish list of avid travellers across the world who have been waiting to visit the country these past two years without being burdened by paperwork. Now, they can! We look forward to hosting Indian travellers from May 2 onwards and can’t wait for them to come and enjoy the wonder that is Switzerland.”

Travellers who have been looking forward to visiting Switzerland have the option of booking direct flights from Mumbai and Delhi with Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS). The airline resumed their operations in India earlier in the year, after India and Switzerland signed an air bubble agreement that allowed their national carriers to operate flights between the two countries.
