SHALIN JOSE has been appointed as the Director of Spa at The Westin Mumbai Garden City. With over 16 years of experience in the wellness industry. Shalin's abilities span every facet of the industry, including management, concept development, marketing, branding and business development. 

Armed with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physical Education from Gwalior and Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (CIBTAC), Jose brings with him a wealth of knowledge to the position. He will be responsible for the bespoke spa experiences at the Heavenly Spa by WestinTM in addition to ensuring the staff are trained to the highest degree of excellence.

Prior to joining The Westin Mumbai Garden City, Jose was Spa Director for the Starwood Hotels and Resorts for three years where he created visibility for the hotel in his role as a Global Spa councillor. As a Task Force Manager, he helped launch India's first Shine Spa for Sheraton, Bangalore. During his stint at Latitude Health Pvt Ltd, he was chosen by Asia Spa Magazine as ‘Spa Manager of the Year 2009’ and the President’s Award for outstanding Employee (2010). He has been responsible for numerous projects that involved the opening of multiple new spas and salons.

During his professional tenure, he has played a key role in consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotels by accomplishing performance objectives focused on business revenues, guest and associate satisfaction. Shalin achieved great success at St. Regis Saadiyat Island, where he led the team as the Director of Spa in his most recent role. Shalin was also responsible for staff training and the development of treatment specialties exclusive to the hotel.

Shalin draws on his diverse experience and will bring new expertise to The Westin Mumbai Garden City as they continue to grow and expand. The team at The Westin Mumbai Garden City looks forward to working with Shalin and setting new standards in the Spa and Recreation Department.
