IN TODAY’S day and age, more and more hotels are exploring interior design options. Saint Gobain Gyproc is creating new benchmarks in drywall solution by offering load fixing strength, robustness and acoustics throughout hotels. Saint Gobain Gyproc is a subsidiary of the larger Saint-Gobain Group, a world leader in the habitat and construction.

Sudeep Kolte, VP Sales & Marketing, Gyproc India said, “we have recently launched Habito, a new variant of gypsum board. Habito will take the lead on sustainable habitat solutions in future combined with performance. Gyproc India’s Drywalls have graced interiors of popular hotels across the country, some of which are J.W. Marriott (New Delhi and Mumbai), Novotel (Pune), Classic Grande Hotel (Imphal) and Crowne Plaza (Kochi).”

According to Kolte, as demand for better interiors surges across hotels in India, there is a crucial need for efficient and sustainable construction methods such as drywalls. Specifically for wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens, drywall are now becoming popular in hotels where they can be installed along with loading of fixtures, wash basins, bath tubs and bowls.

“Habito, a new variant in the drywall space, is installed like any other gypsum board. But it allows users to fix items, such as TV brackets, cabinets, white board, lacquered glass, wall hanging instruments or any other heavy items,” he added.

Kolte concluded by saying that today specialised wet area technology for drywall separations remains a robust solution, resulting in cost-cutting and eco-friendly solutions and offers a fine finish and aesthetic appeal to the interiors of hotels.
