MOVING FROM long term lodging and hotel business, OYO has launched OYO workspaces which is a co-working space designed for talented professionals, freelancers and early-stage start-ups. These workspaces are already operational across six cities in India with over 16 centres. These workspaces already entertain the occupancy rate of more than 85 percent.

During the launch, Rohit Kapoor, CEO, New Real Estate Businesses said, “We plan to have 50 Oyo workspaces by the end of the current year and aim to make it the largest co-working business in Asia by the end of 2020.”

The 3rd largest hotel chain, OYO acquired Innov8 this year and made an entrance into co-working space market. Innov8 is one of the three in-house brands introduced by OYO. The other two are – WorkFlo and PowerStation, which are aimed at serving people who are looking for more economical prices. Innov8 has been positioned as a premium option.

Speaking about the acquisition, Ritesh Malik, Founder and CEO, Innov8 said, “All the 150 employees working at Innov8 will get absorbed in the new company and this will open new doors and opportunities for the Innov8 brand.”

It is growing its business in other sectors by indulging itself into partnerships with start-ups and local players. Furthermore, it has plans to invest in its India and Southeast Asia businesses this year.
