New appointments at The Ritz Carlton, Bangalore

Devyani Gandhi is the new HR Manager, Sumit Punn is Director of Loss Prevention, Dia Rajdev has been promoted as Associate Director of Events and Kanika Mathur has been appointed as Front Office Manager

The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore has announced key appointments in its leadership team. While Devyani Gandhi is the new Human Resources Manager, Sumit Punn has joined the property as the Director of Loss Prevention. Meanwhile, Dia Rajdev has been promoted to the pivotal position of the Associate Director of Events and Kanika Mathur has been appointed as the new Front Office Manager.

Devyani Gandhi, the new Human Resources Manager at Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore hails from New Delhi. She finished her MBA in Human Resources from the Delhi School of Business and started her career with Marriott International in 2017 as the Voyage Graduate Development trainee – Marriott International's 18 month, award-winning Development Programme offering resources and support for future leaders of the company across Marriott’s hotel brands, at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar and Westin Mumbai where she received hands-on training in the Human Resources discipline.  Devyani ascended progressively as the Assistant Human Resources Manager at the Westin Mumbai. In her last assignment as the Assistant Human Resources Manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore, she has displayed consistent effort towards strengthening a nurturing environment for each individual to continuously learn and grow, building an empowered team, driving CSR activities and fulfilling her service commitment towards the team members at the hotel. In her current role, Devyani brings onboard her strong principles of trust, honesty, respect, integrity and commitment to consistently nurture and maximise talent at the company. 

Sumit Punn is newly appointed as the Director of Loss Prevention for the 277 keys luxury hotel. A seasoned hotelier with over 13 years of experience across hotels in the domestic and International market spanning India and Australia, he began his career as a Loss Prevention Officer in 2007 at Chubb Security. He later worked in diverse roles at Jaypee Hotels and Resorts, Courtyard by Marriott Agra, opening countdown team at JW Marriott Chandigarh, JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa, Ramada Plaza Chandigarh, Courtyard by Marriott Amritsar and Hyatt Regency Dehradun. He has previously worked as Multi-Property Director of Loss Prevention in Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre and Courtyard by Marriott Hyderabad. 

Meanwhile, Dia Rajdev has been promoted to the pivotal position of the Associate Director of Events. Dia, with over 14 years of experience, is a driven and result-oriented hotelier. She started her career in November 2007 as a Front Desk agent for Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai. She ascended progressively to the space of Event Management in 2011 as the Events Executive at Grand Hyatt Mumbai. Rajdev is known to build and lead strong teams in excelling in the management of sales and events for flagship hotels across the country including Hyatt Pune, Grand Hyatt Mumbai, The St Regis Mumbai and Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru at Embassy One as their Events Manager. The young leader moved to The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore as the Senior Events Manager in 2019. She is known to maintain highest service standards and consistently achieves operational excellence with her attention to detail. In her new role, she looks forward to create and train a high-performing team and drive results for the hotel. 

Kanika Mathur is the newly appointed Front Office Manager at the property. She brings commitment, operational expertise and a strong experience of creating and training high-performance teams, to her new role. Mathur, in her 13 years of experience, has previously worked at iconic hotels such as Taj Jai Mahal Palace Jaipur, JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, Fairmont Jaipur and Four Seasons Mumbai. She started her journey back in 2010, at Taj Jai Mahal Palace Jaipur as a Guest Services Assistant. Kanika ascended progressively as Guest Services Executive, Assistant Manager Front Office, Front Desk Manager and Assistant Front Office Manager with Indian Hotels Company Limited, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Marriott International and Leela Palaces and Resorts. In her previous assignment as the Assistant Manager Front Office at The Leela Bhartiya City Bengaluru Hotel Conventions Residences, Mathur drove guest satisfaction and OTA scores for the hotel. She mentored and trained her team to ensure operational efficacy. In her current role, along with The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore, Kanika will be heading the Front office team. Her journey brings with her hands-on knowledge of hotel operations, team development and empowerment and business acumen.
