Manav Koul Takes Over as Exec Chef at Sofitel BKC

CHEF MANAV Koul has been appointed Executive Chef of Sofitel Mumbai BKC. Koul brings over 15 years of experience to his role at Sofitel Luxury Hotels’ flagship property in India. With a passion for culinary arts, Koul pursued his dream and graduated with a three-year diploma in hotel management from IIHM - Ahmedabad.

He soon completed his post-graduation diploma from the Oberoi Centre for Learning and Development in New Delhi and began his career with the Oberoi Hotels in Mumbai.
Believing that hard work finds its way to success, Koul gained experience under the stalwarts of the industry including Chef Terry Pladieu at Chef Paul Bocuse’s 3 star Michelin restaurant in France and Chef Vincent Adam Petrope at his 2 star Michelin restaurant.
Before being an Executive Chef at Hyatt Regency Pune, Koul gained immense experience from different parts of the world including the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong and Singapore, Royal Caribbean Cruise Liners in the United States, Ista Hotels in Bangalore to name a few. The talented gourmet expert then went on to become the Head Chef at L’Auberge in Teddington, London where he specialized in traditional French cooking. For his outstanding work at L’Auberge, he won the accolade of the Best Head Chef for three consecutive years and has also been awarded the Ospitalia Italia by the Italian Trade Commission for La Cucina.
With a sharp eye for detail and excellent knowledge in various cooking techniques, Chef Koul promises to strive for ultimate guest satisfaction at Sofitel Mumbai BKC.
