Jehan Numa Wilderness, which owns and manages the critically acclaimed Reni Pani Jungle Lodge in Satpura Tiger Reserve and the Jehan Numa Retreat in Bhopal, launches the Bori Safari Lodge as the first wildlife lodge in the Bori Wildlife Sanctuary area of Madhya Pradesh. Located just 4km away from the gate of the Sanctuary and 2.5 hours away from the Satpura National Park, the charming lodge is nestled amidst a 7.5-acre farmland estate in the lush and rustic Dhapada Village. 

Being the first wildlife lodge near the oldest forest reserve in the country, Bori Safari Lodge is far away from usual tourist attractions and an oasis for nature lovers. It is situated approximately 144km from Bhopal and offers utmost luxury to its guests along with an immersive experience of rustic life. With a focus on personalized service and sustainable tourism, Bori Safari Lodge has also joined the RARE India Community of conscious luxury hotels in the Indian subcontinent. 

Regarding the newly launched lodge, Aly Rashid, Director of Jehan Numa Wilderness, said, “I find the Bori Wildlife Sanctuary to be one of the most exciting wildlife habitats in Central India. If guests spend enough time here, they have a unique opportunity to see all major carnivores of Central India, namely the tiger, Leopard, sloth bear and wild dog. There are also opportunities to explore the area not just by jeep but also on foot, on bicycle and at night. There is so much wildlife here and no accommodation to stay in. This is what inspired me to develop the Bori Safari Lodge. Personally, I have a great connection with this area, especially Churna (the core zone), as it was the first wildlife destination I visited as a child.”

The Lodge also offers its guests different spa therapies including Ayurvedic massage, reflexology, Indian head massage and a range of full body treatments. The in-house multi-cuisine restaurant serves high quality authentic gourmet delicacies of Madhya Pradesh that are made using locally sourced food ingredients.

Guests staying at the Lodge can enjoy wildlife tours, 4x4 game drives, buffer rides, walking safaris and wildlife safaris with best-in-class naturalist guides in the Bori Wildlife Sanctuary as well as the Satpura National Park. They can enjoy village tours, interact with locals and go on an anthropological excursion at Dhapada and other nearby villages. The Satpura Tiger Reserve comprises two protected areas teaming with wildlife. The Satpura National Park, famously known for its Sloth Bears and Leopards, and the Bori Wildlife Sanctuary, which is emerging as a park with high tiger density. For tourists or wildlife viewers, these two parks combined can deliver an unmatched diversity of iconic mammals. Tiger, leopard, sloth bear, wild dog, giant squirrel and gaur make up the ‘’super six’’ of the area and with enough days spent in this landscape, guests have a high chance of seeing all. Apart from this, the greater Satpura landscape is teaming with common wild herbivores, over 300 species of birds and a plethora of activities to choose from.
