It was in 1986 that Century Plyboards (India) Ltd, the first ISO 9002 company in India for plywood and veneer, started its operations. As the pioneers in Borer Proof Plywood and Boiling Water Resistant (BWR) Decorative Veneers and Laminates in India, the company has successfully created a niche in the highly competitive lifestyle segment.

Post outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, CenturyPly introduced Virokill technology in its product line, which kills 99.99 per cent virus and is tested and certified under Antiviral Efficacy Test as per ISO 21702:2019 international standard. The company, with manufacturing units in Kolkata, Chennai, Guwahati, Karnal, Kandla, Myanmar and Laos, has a pan-India e-shop presence along with product availability in Flipkart and Amazon.

“At CenturyPly, we work in a collaborative way from the beginning of the projects. We ensure that the right product material is used and specified on application basis. Also, we take a conscious call to provide products aligned with Green Building norms and help the concern developer get LEED points. Some of the hospitality projects with which CenturyPly has been involved are JW Marriott Bangalore, The Leela Ahmedabad, Novotel Hyderabad and ITC Kolkat,” informs Keshav Bhajanka, Executive Director, CenturyPly.

As inventory carrying cost is one of the biggest parameters in any business and turnaround time is equally important, CenturyPly has a robust supply chain process backed with 29 own warehouses across India. “Hence, we not only ensure that the right material is delivered at the right time but also carry inventory on consumer’s behalf,” shares CenturyPly Executive Director. 

Talking about the new offerings in store, Bhajanka says, “CenturyPly is constantly striving to bring more innovation in product line. We have developed industry first firewall technology which is best prepared to fight against self-disintegration due to fire and to contain the spread of fire and smoke generation. This helps in rescue operations, allowing time for consumers to save own and loved ones’ lives or call for emergency help. We have recently launched Century Promise app which verifies authenticity of Century plywood through QR-code scanning, aiming to save our consumers from getting exploited.”
