India Witnessed 7.4 Lakh Tourist Arrival in April 2018
The percentage share of Foreign Tourist Arrivals in India during April 2018 among the top 15 source countries was highest from Bangladesh (24.32 percent) followed by USA (11.21 percent)
FOREIGN TOURIST Arrivals (FTAs) in April 2018 have registered a growth of 4.4 percent as compared to April 2017. In a recent report compiled by Ministry of Tourism on the basis of information received from Bureau of Immigration (BOI) FTAs in April 2018 were 7, 49,477 as compared to 7,17,899 in April 2017.
The percentage share of Foreign Tourist Arrivals in India during April 2018 among the top 15 source countries was highest from Bangladesh (24.32 percent) followed by USA (11.21 percent), UK (9.14 percent), Sri Lanka (3.48 percent), Australia (3.33 percent), Malaysia (3.06 percent), China (2.62 percent), Canada (2.53 percent), Germany (2.48 percent), France (2.33 percent), Japan (2.22 percent), Russian Federation (2.07 percent), Thailand (1.70 percent), Afghanistan (1.65 percent) and Nepal (1.64 percent).
Commenting on the opinion on the rise of FTA Vishal Khosla, General Manager said, “Goa accounts for 50 percent of tourists’ arrival to India. A significant percentage of these are FTA. We are enthused to see FTA are increasing year on year for the entire country. This reflects a growing trend that we foresee for our market over the next two-three years. India has become a country of choice for international travellers and at Novotel Goa Dona Sylvia Resort we welcome and host international guests over 40 nations.”
However, Delhi airport amounts for the highest percentage share of FTA followed by Mumbai Airport. As per the statement, in April 2018, 1, 57,094 tourists arrived on an e-Tourist visa, a growth of 37 percent over the same month a year ago.
