TO EMPHASIZE Hyatt’s focus on its rich culinary heritage, Hyatt Hotels in India introduced the ’Hyatt Culinary Challenge - people cooking for people’ in 2014. The first season was a memorable experience for our guests as well as the hotel associates engaged in the preparations. The challenge is back in 2015, with the second season which was held on October 31 across ten Hyatt India destinations. Hyatt India Culinary Challenge preliminary rounds were held across Hyatt Hotels in Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune on October 31 and November 1, 2015, with the finale being held at Grand Hyatt Mumbai on November 15, 2015.



The Hyatt Culinary Challenge is conceptualized as a unique event that will bring together individuals from the corporate realm on a common platform; where they could showcase their culinary expertise and passion for food in an interactive culinary event. Each participant was paired with a child from the SMILE foundation, Hyatt’s partner NGO in India and recreated a recipe of their choice for the judges.



With judges from the field of food, photography and fashion, the competition had a hands down winner for the Mumbai Edition; Surjit Singh Mahajan ’ Director, Staubli India Pvt Ltd and runner up was Tushar Suba ’ Legal Head, Frank International. The corporate winner from each city will compete at the grand finale in Mumbai in November 2015.



Speaking on the occasion, Harleen Mehta, Vice President Sales Operations, Hyatt South Asia said, ’The Hyatt Culinary Challenge is an endeavor to bring together people to celebrate their passion for food and make a difference to the community while doing so. We are delighted with the overwhelming response from the participants both offline and online, and look forward to doing more such events over the years.’

This is the second season of the Hyatt Culinary Challenge which has now become a medium to get those with a passion for flavors under one roof to reveal their culinary skills whilst supporting a noble cause.
