Getting together to set new standards
Consultants, equipment manufacturers and contractors from hospitality industry meet to discuss everything but business
It was an unusual evening, not because it was unusually pleasant or the skies had opened up after a long scorching spell of summer. On the contrary, it was muggy and annoyingly uncomfortable, given that September had stepped in and there were no signs of the lovely evenings Delhi-NCRwalas have been used for decades. Unusual because some of the hospitality industry bigwigs – consultants, equipment manufacturers and contractors – were getting together for an event under one roof after a hiatus of almost two years due to the pandemic scare.
The idea behind this collaborative consultant event hosted by RATIONAL International India Pvt Ltd, Granuldisk India Pvt Ltd, Kaapi Solutions and SSS Kitchen Equipment in association with BW HOTELIER as media partner at the India office of RATIONAL in Sector 65, Gurgaon, was to not talk business but informally interact and socialise. “It had been long that we all had met and interacted, business or otherwise, so we decided on organising this exclusive get-together. The concept is to have an informal gathering and discussions,” said Vikram Goel, Managing Director, RATIONAL International India Pvt Ltd.
Elated to be a part of the evening, Rajendra Kankal, Regional Sales Director – ISC, Granuldisk India Pvt Ltd said, “As this was an interesting concept and being held in India for the first time, we decided to be a part of it. Such events go a long way in getting the community together and work together.”
Sharing more information about this event, Joseph R Albert, Managing Director, CKP Hospitality Consultants, said that the event was started a long time ago as a group in SE Asia. “We call it the Food Service Fellowship event wherein we invite consultants, equipment manufacturers and contractors but never indulge in any conversation about business. We want to have fair business among all our fellow business community and this definitely will set a new standard in the industry,” he said.
Agreed Kaapi Solutions CEO and coffee consultant Vikram Khurana. “Events like these surely set new standards for the industry which is facing a challenging situation due to the pandemic. It will surely help break certain barriers between fellow partners,” Khurana said.
The evening was followed by an eight-course meal conceptualised by RATIONAL India chief Vikram Goel, and prepared and served under the guidance of the organisation’s National Corporate Chef Toshit Sharma who concocted a delicious spread comprising an array of rich flavour-oozing morsels. “The idea is immerse ourselves together into this piquant tour of unrivalled extravagant flavours,” said Sharma.
Also present at this unique event were Sanjiv Deshmukh, KSC.com; Saurabh Sethi, Caterdesign Consultants; hospitality consultant P Sravan Kumar; Imtiaz Mistry, Mistry Associates among others.
