FM announces loan guarantee scheme for tourist guides and other travel and tourism stakeholders with 100 per cent guarantee

In order to provide financial support to over 11,000 registered tourist guides/travel and tourism stakeholders, the Finance Minister announces loan guarantee scheme.

Nirmala Sitharaman, Finance Minister, Government of India announces loan guarantee scheme for tourist guides and other travel and tourism stakeholders with 100 per cent guarantee.

Sitharaman comments, “This is to help the tourist guides and tourist travel agencies survive the second wave.”

The Centre will provide loans of up to Rs. 1 Lakh with guarantee to tourist guides licensed at regional or state level.  This scheme will help 10,700 tourist guides registered under Ministry of Tourism and state governments.

The new loan guarantee scheme for Covid affected sectors will provide working capital or personal loans to workers in tourism sector to discharge liabilities and restart businesses impacted due to Covid-19.

Besides, loans with a limit of Rs.10 lakh would be available with 100 per cent guarantee to the registered tourist guides/ travel and tourism stakeholders. In all, 904 stakeholders registered with the Ministry of Tourism can avail the loan guarantee scheme.
